Wake up to magnificent views of the Bath countryside before venturing out into one of the most beautiful cities in the world where you can…..
Visit the Thermae
Bath Spa and wallow in warm (around 33C), natural, thermal
waters in the open-air rooftop pool particularly enjoyable
on a cold, clear evening and
the larger indoor Minerva Bath.
You can also use the
steam
rooms – new Roman and
Georgian-inspired ones,
as
well as an infrared sauna and ice chamber.
Fully refreshed, sample one of the many
restaurants and cafes in the City Centre before embarking on a tour of Georgian Bath on foot.
First, visit The Royal Crescent – Bath’s
singularly most impressive piece of architecture – it is in fact a half
ellipse and not exactly a crescent.
Take tea at the magnificent Royal Crescent
Hotel and then…..
Go to No 1 Royal Crescent to see how a
true Georgian lived.
Maintained by the Bath Preservation
Trust, it is furnished in period style, and a major restoration project has reunited it with its original
service wing.
If you are visiting between the 9th
February and 7th
May 2018 go to the excellent Holburne
Museum where you will find an inspiring and
beautiful retrospective of Anthony Fry paintings.
Previously, slightly fusty, the museum now
features a striking and – for an architecturally conservative city – a controversial glass and ceramic
extension that protrudes from the rear of the grand, neo-classical building into Sydney Gardens.
As well as the Anthony Fry exhibition,
you will find some fine, beautifully displayed British 18th- and early
19th-century paintings, an eclectic collection of antique curios
accumulated in the 1800s by Bathonian Sir William Holburne,
as well as many other fascinating exhibits and a
rather good café.
The Loft has one double bed, a bathroom
and kitchen. With a beautiful deck
overlooking the Bath countryside.
Price is £98 per night.

My husband and I spent a wonderful mid week break at The Loft 3 years ago courtesy of Christina when I won a photography competition to commemorate the move to Sidney Street. We had such a lovely time that we intended to return but sadly my husband had a stroke resulting in left sided weakness. On a positive note he is now getting to grips with stairs so we are hoping to have another short break in the not to distant future. The countryside is stunning, there's a great pub a very short drive away, and The Loft is very comfortable and well equipped - just what one would expect from C&R! Perfect for a romantic getaway!
