Comfort & Joy No. 4 - A Festive Tipple

'Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.'

Norman Vincent Peale

The Holidays are a lovely time to sit by the fire with your favorite drink and enjoy the company of friends and family.

We would like to share a C&R classic, a spiced pear vodka recipe, which is delicious served with ginger beer.

The ingredients are minimal, normally located at the back of a cupboard.

4 pears
1 cinnamon stick
3 cloves
1 large piece of fresh ginger
Vodka

Cut the pears into quarters and de-seed. Place into your air tight container.

Add large chunks of peeled ginger (you can add plenty!) and a few cloves followed by 1 cinnamon stick.

Pour in the vodka so it covers the ingredients.

Add as much vodka as you would like to drink. This will determine how long to leave your vodka to soak up the delicious Christmassy flavours.

Taste your vodka daily until it is to your taste. We would advise around 4-7 days.

Add 50ml to your ginger beer for a delicious Christmas or New Year drink for all to enjoy.
