Happily I now have to work on knitwear designs.
Because I was never much good at doing what I am supposed
to do, I have suddenly taken an interest in our blog; indeed in anything at all
that does not involve knitwear or the design thereof. Here are some pictures of my office, things that I stare at every day, and look at without noticing.
I gave up smoking 103 days ago and added a stone and a
half to my body by eating my weight in chocolate every hour.
I have smoked
277,400 cigarettes in my life and in today's money that will have cost £97,090
the cost of a small house, several luxury holidays, quite a lot of cancer
research, food for several families for a good long while...
If you dont mind I will write something on our blog once
a week, a new regime which, like stopping smoking, I will stick to without fail
(for at least two weeks). Let me know
if I am talking to myself and I will stop, let me know if I am not and I will
continue.

PS. We opened a new shop in a department store in Tokyo
this week, we posted photographes earlier, sitting in the tree house in a damp
england, I find it extraordinary, what an achievement...

I wouldn't mind that view or the vignettes on your desk, thanks for sharing - looking forward to seeing photos from the launch in Tokyo in the near future...sharon
Nope, not talking to yourself, I'm happily reading along.
Enjoy the weekend and good luck with the designs!

Don't stop - love your posts - especially ones like this - it could be me writing... I have so much to do and have been staring out of the window for most of the afternoon!
What a lovely post - I love it that you allow us a glimpse into the 'real' life of Cabbages and Roses.

Bravo!
You are listened to so don't stop your posts! I am a quilter/seamstress from Australia and love your fabrics. I am glad you have chosen Moda as the quality of their fabrics are wonderful to work with. Alot of my other soft florals are not up to their standard and limit their use for me. Regards Robyn
Love your blog Christina and the beautiful images you post. Well done on giving up smoking. I gave up 18 years ago and it was the hardest thing I ever did. I am so glad that I never have to do that again x
Well done on the non smoking! I am a big fan of all your yummy fabrics. Just received your new collection of fabrics in a fat quarter bundle. They are superb! I have also made a dress from one of the prints adding a pink vintage tape measure to trim it. It's on my Facebook page if you would like a peek. X
Christina, we all want to see the real woman behind the brand. It gives you depth and inspiration to us all. Keep talking

well done Christina! I am hugely impressed that you've stopped smoking xx
Makes me miss home!! Xxx
Oh do please continue to post. Giving up the evil weed was hard for me too. I can't convert the cost but your numbers were impressive and after 16 years of smoking I'm sure I spent more money then I should have.
Christina, well done with the smoking. Please keep up with the blog. We all have issues in our lives, and seeing what your business looks like in your head and in your immediate environs, is a very positive insight. Thank you and I'll be reading each of your posts. Guaranteed.
Congratulations most importantly on giving up smoking! And next, congratulations on the new store. What great achievements. Keep up the good work. Connie in Ohio, USA
Congrats on both fronts from a fellow recovering smoker. Seventeen years but still have the urge to stand very close to anyone with a lit cigarette and breathe in very deeply. Personally struggling to come to terms at this end with no C&R rail in Jigsaw in Bristol :(
I hope that you are able to keep away from them ciggies, you will feel so much better for it. Love the blog. I am such a fan of yours!
